WHO

Jen (that’s me) and Jamie (my boyfriend of 5 years)

WHY

The simple version - because we’re young (for now) we want to and we can!!

HOW

We already have a house so first plan is to rent this out.  We will then be moving home (with the parents) for approx 6 months to save for our flights and travel money etc and to get ourselves in a position to leave with no major difficulties.

WHEN

Well, if we win the lottery we’ll be going a little sooner but failing that we hope to be gone by the end of 2009 (at the latest).  Ideally we would be preparing to leave in about August – so we’d best get moving with the house!!

Some Personal Info

Hi, my name’s Jen.  I turned 25 in February 2008 and, it could be classed as a quarter-life crisis, but I decided, in March/April 2008, that I wanted to go travelling before it became time for marriage and children and everything that comes hand in hand with those.  Luckily for me my boyfriend, Jamie, of 5 years is happy to come along (who wouldn’t be in all honesty!?) and so we plan to have a 12 month RTW (’round the world) adventure and see where it takes us.

I have no blogging experience (this will become evident soon I’m sure) and all I can do I have taught myself.  I’ve created this blog for myself and for my friends and family – to begin with.  I am a complete novice when it comes to travelling and have so far only ever been on “holidays”, so with this blog I hope to be able to write about everything from choosing destinations to buying the tickets and arriving at Heathrow and with the rest from country to country.  I hope that one day this blog might help even just one other person find their way and encourage them to travel (however corny that sounds!)!!
